Usually the agency must wait until consumers are harmed before officials can remove products from stores. Because the supplement industry operates on the honor system, studies show, the market has been flooded with products that are adulterated, mislabeled or packaged in dosages that have not been studied for safety.

One of the few articles were I agree with the vast majority of the commentators. I guess that when safety regulations are close to home, even the right wing wants government to regulate. Corporates think that they can hide behind the slogan of "costly regulations".
